US Pol / privacy rights
For every other right based on the right to be left alone.
In addition to our right to do sodomy, this does mean that the entire basis for any right to privacy has been struck down by SCOTUS, which does potentially have impact for all online communications.
Nerds posting now about "illegal maths" are, unfortunately, correct to be concerned and this does impact everyone in the US.
US Pol / privacy rights
The reason that Google et al was happy to donate to anti-abortion causes is because of the legal structures surrounding the Roe decision. In a previous court case, Griswold v Connecticut, which legalised birth control for unmarried women, SCOTUS found that people have a right to medical privacy, which became a right to full privacy full stop. You can imagine why tech tech dystopia wanted to remove privacy rights.
This does have implications . . .
Police in Germany seize a Pirate Party's server hosting Cryptpad, following a G7 document leak.
Had they done a moment's research, they would have seen in advance that no documents can be retrieved from a Cryptpad instance, due to its client/server distributed 'zero-knowledge' E2EE implementation. This rendered their operation somewhat pointless, and serves as a robust example of encryption as a functional safeguard of basic human rights:
